FROM DISTRICT 184 TO DISTRICT 204
Our adventure begins in 1968, when Rotaract District 184 comes to life: a great endeavor uniting under a single banner the young people of all north-western Italy — from Lombardy (including the Province of Piacenza) to Piedmont, from the Aosta Valley to Liguria — reaching as far as the coast of the Principality of Monaco.
As the years pass, enthusiasm grows and the presence across the territory becomes ever more widespread, making a reorganization of the geographic boundaries necessary. The 1975-1976 Rotary year marks the first turning point: Piedmont, the Aosta Valley, Liguria, and the Principality of Monaco separate to give life to Rotaract District 183, while the remaining local fabric takes on, twelve months later, the name Rotaract District 204.
DISTRICT 2050 IS BORN
But our true identity begins to take shape in 1985-1986. It is at this moment that southern Lombardy and the Province of Piacenza chart a new course, breaking away from the rest of the region to establish Rotaract District 205 — the reality that, from 1991-1992, officially takes on the name Rotaract District 2050.
Today our District presents itself as a dynamic, cohesive network of young leaders: a community united by over half a century of history, guided by the strength of shared values and driven by a constant commitment to serve above self, in the spirit of the motto Fellowship through Service.
